Frigidaire 70-Pint Dehumidifier Review
I am using the dehumidifier for a month. Like the other reviews said, frigidaire 70 pint is a bit noisy '. I use it in my basement, so that is not a problem for me. I recently had a burst hot water tank and sent 40 gallons of water throughout the basement. That, of course, was just before my old dehumidifier has decided to quit. After ordering the night of Sun, I received on Wed. I could not believe how fast it was delivered! (Plus, I got free shipping from Amazon.com !!!!) When I got up and checked on Thursday morning, the humidity was 40%. Was 90% when I put in are very happy to find a 70-pint dehumidifier, for less than $ 200. I paid almost that much of my previous which was only 40 pints. I do recommend purchasing this model - especially if you plan to use in a basement. Money well spent!
I have had many over the years, lately the LG-made units (Goldstar / LG / Sears). This seems better designed for all the above I have owned. Handsome. Nice fit and finish. A lot of plastic, but it seems solid. Larger than it appears in the picture. Heavy. Without vibration. The controls are simple and effective, with the humidistat displays the selected setting as you're changing, then return to reading real-time humidity, after a second or two. The compressor is very quiet, you can hear when you're standing next to the unit, but not on, as has been my experience with the D. Lgs The fan is quiet as can be given the amount of air moves, I think. I have mine set high in the early days, as is to bring the humidity down, and probably the left, increasing the efficiency of spending, unless a lot of time in the cellar, then he will go down to reduce noise. You can hear the fan through a wall or two high, perhaps through a wall for bass, but it is moving a significant amount of air. The fan noise is a hissing sound clean, white noise, in essence, not questionable at all. I think the fan speed down, you can tolerate even this upstairs, but it is absolutely perfect for the basement. I connected a discharge pipe in one continuous floor drain. The hose connection is a beautiful design. There is a door flap on the side. The pipe passes through vineyards and just above the nipple in a bucket of water. If the pipe is not there, the water passes through the nipple and falls into the bucket, very simple, effective, without adapters. Overall, this unit seems very well made, that inspires confidence. I hope it lasts a few years. As I near Chicago, I bought mine at Abt local supply 4yr warranty for $ 29. Very happy!
