Garmin GPS 60CSx Handheld GPS Navigator Reviews
I had several Garmin GPS over the years and is the best time for navigation Backwoods and also as a driver of the street. The great advantage is the topo maps and street maps can co-exist and be accessible by a turn either off or on, the configuration page map. The fact that you can install a micro-chip memory (up to 2 gig I think) is a plus. I find it hard to make this unit lose the receipt, even intentionally. Thus, the GPS 60CSx should still been. The electronic compass is great.I can not think of one bad thing about this unit.Even Techs Garmin I spoke to said to have one.
Got this little dandy for Christmas from my wife. Since I have taken in the Bahamas and back. You will need to purchase the detailed maps. The digital map should be upgraded to at least 1GB. I can store nearly half of U.S. retail on 1GB. Works great for the automatic routing. Even my wife got concerned when he adjusted to my driving outside the predefined route. GPS 60CSx recalc and jumps right back in new directions! It has so many good points, I'd rather tell you to read the product description. The critic only possible answer is the first slow satellite acquisition. Not a real problem, however.
I was looking for a new GPS to replace my 5-year-old Magellan SporTrak. I wanted a GPS unit that could do a good job with street routing and hiking and biking while still being portable and GPS 60CSx (with the addition of mapping City Navigator NT 2008 DVD) has proved more than up to the task. Everything worked right out of the box, and it's fun to use. The 'find' films (whose scope was expanded considerably with the use of City Navigator maps) has already proved useful. The most surprising, however, was the receiver sensitivity. I was in my mother's house the first time that I lit, and it could provide a 3D position of the kitchen.
I had this GPS 60CSx for several months now and I love it. I also bought Map Source, I strongly recommend. It looks a little time to learn all its own characteristics, but not too bad. It helps if you have some computer knowledge, but I am not a geek. I used it on TRIPS and Geocaching and done quite well for both. I did not find a street that had the wrong name and reported it to Garmin. They said they do change. So beware of the thing, the street name. This may be a little confusing. Overall, the 60CSx is a good size to carry, not too difficult to learn and it is really a fun "toy".
