I just received my ES8243A and after the first shave, I must say I am totally impressed. I have a thick beard and I have been shaving with a Braun for about 5 years. I was tired of spending 10 minutes every morning on my way and my face by a hair (only to be asked "Did you shave today?"), So I decided it was time to take the plunge and get a new razor. After considering several options, I solved the ES8243A. I decided against the model of Black Vortex much more expensive, after discovering that one can just as easily with a few drops of liquid soap, clean the ES8243A and avoid having to buy the $ 5 monthly soap cartridges that the Vortex requires. What seems to be the only difference between the two models - the black is the cleanest Vortex / charger and a blue only an AC adapter, and cleans up with soap and water.
After charging the razor (takes only 1 hour) I gave it a try and I am absolutely impressed with how fast and close this factory razor. Compared to my old Braun, is a completely different from his beard. This shaver Panasonic is quieter, lighter and all around a great razor. I can not wait to try it in the shower (something you can not do with a Braun).
